About Me
Hi, my name is Catherine, owner of Chorley Tuition. Â
I qualified as a teacher 15 years ago and have never looked back! I simply love helping children learn, inspiring them and seeing their confidence grow. Since becoming a mother to my two beautiful daughters, I decided to step away from teaching in schools and have built up my tuition business, working with many fantastic children and families along the way.Â
Over the years, I have tutored children ranging in age from 5 to 19 with a whole range of skills, talents and learning styles.  I tailor my lessons for each individual so that they always enjoy their learning, are engaged and thrive.  I love to see my pupils progress and will adapt my lessons throughout to ensure they succeed and feel a sense of achievement.  I use a wide range of resources, activities and games to keep lessons fun and children motivated.Â
Over the past year, the majority of my lessons have taken place online via Zoom. This has worked fantastically and is something that I will continue to offer for those who prefer or find it more convenient.  I also use Seesaw which is a fantastic way of sharing lessons and resources and a great tool for pupils to follow up their learning.
I used Chorley Tuition for my son to help him through his SATS in 2015 and it did wonders for his confidence, so much so that I came back in 2017 to help him again in confidence at high school as I know he does struggle sometimes. He has thoroughly enjoyed working one to one with Catherine and happily wanted help the second time round which shows what a brilliant mentor she was the first time. She sets your child at ease and teaches at your child's pace, gets to know them and they thrive from it - I can vouch for that!! Definitely."
